Determine required

The required temperature rise is the differ-

Philadelphia requires
115°F domestic water.
What is the required
temperature rise?
1. The groundwater temperature for the
Philadelphia area is 47°F.
TI = 47°F
2. The required domestic water outlet
temperature is 115°F.
TO = 115°F
3. The required temperature rise is the
difference:
TR = 115 – 47 = 68°F
4. Use the 70°F temperature rise capac-
