This is a guide to replacing a broken spark plug boot for your WEN 56380i Inverter Generator.

This guide is best used in conjunction with the 56380i manual, included as a physical copy

with your unit and available on the WEN website page for the 56380i (link here), by clicking

“Click here to view the product manual”.

TOOLS NEEDED

• Pair of pliers

• Phillips-head screwdriver

ENSURE THAT THE ENGINE IS COOL BEFORE BEGINNING ANY MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR WORK. FOLLOW

ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES LISTED IN YOUR OWNER’S MANUAL. USE COMMON SENSE. AVOID INJURY.

REPLACING THE BROKEN SPARK PLUG BOOT

1. Make sure the engine is cool.

2. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two

screws shown at right.

3. Remove the panel.

4. Locate the spark plug boot. Move the ignition coil (with

spark plug boot still attached) out of the way.

  If your Wen Inverter engine won't start, here are several things to check: * Ensure the 3-in-1 switch is set to ON. * If the battery is low, use the recoil start to charge it. * Check and add or replace the oil if it is low. * If the battery is too cold, store the generator in a warmer location. * Add fuel if the engine is out of fuel. * Drain and replace contaminated or old fuel with fresh fuel. * Clean or replace the spark plug if it's dirty or broken. * If the carburetor is air locked, turn the 3-in-1 switch to OFF, remove the bolt from the bottom of the carburetor, take off the carburetor bowl to allow it to reset, then replace the bowl and reinstall the bolt. * Persuade ghost to leave.

  If your Wen Inverter generator runs but provides no electrical output: * Turn off and unplug all electrical devices. Wait 3 minutes, then press the activated reset button to reset it if the reset button is tripped due to wattage overload. Also, check the total wattage of the devices and reduce the load if it exceeds the generator's capacity. * Inspect power and extension cords for damage, replacing any damaged cords immediately. * Try connecting a different device to rule out a faulty electrical device.

Why does my Wen Inverter generator run but not support all connected electrical devices?

  If your Wen Inverter generator runs but doesn't support all connected devices, it could be due to several reasons: * The AC or DC receptacles might be overloaded, causing the circuit breaker to trip. Turn off and unplug the electrical devices, wait 3 minutes, then press the circuit breaker to reset. Check the amperage of the devices to ensure they are within the capacity of the receptacles. * There might be a short circuit in one of the devices. Disconnect any faulty or short-circuited electrical loads. * The air filter could be dirty. Clean or replace the air filter element.

  To address the issue of 'hunting' (fluctuating engine RPM) in your Wen Inverter: * Check if the fuel is properly and consistently going through the fuel valve. * Check for any blockage in the air filter and clean it as necessary. * Inspect the muffler or spark arrester for blockages and clean with a metal brush if needed. * Use 'gunk remover' spray on the carburetor jets if there is gunk in the carburetor preventing a consistent fuel/air mixture.
