What to do if my Wen 6033 bit slips in the collet?
    • G
      Glenn AyalaAug 12, 2025
If the router bit slips in the collet, it could be that the collet and mating arbor taper are pitted from acids and oil in the wood and need cleaning. To resolve this, remove the collet from the router, and using a plastic scrubbing pad, clean the outer taper of the collet and the interior taper of the arbor. Ensure there is no plastic or metal debris left over from the cleaning before reinserting the collet. Alternatively, the router bit may be damaged, in which case you should stop using it and replace it with a new one.

How to fix a Wen 6033 when the motor does not start?
    • C
      Courtney SimpsonAug 18, 2025
If the motor does not start, it could be due to a damaged or improperly plugged-in power cord. Check the power cord, power plug, and the power outlet, and do not use the machine if the power cord is damaged. Another possible cause is worn motor carbon brushes. Inspect the carbon brushes and replace them as needed.

Why does the routed profile burn when using my Wen 6033 Network Router?
    • C
      Crystal SinghNov 3, 2025
A routed profile can burn due to several reasons: * The router bit may be dull, so replace it. * The router speed might be too fast, so reduce it. * The feed speed could be too slow, so increase it. * The material might be prone to burning, so take a shallow clean-up pass with a higher feed rate. * If the burn is below the profile, the router bit guide bearing (if present) may be worn, in this case you should remove the bit from the router and spin the bearing with your finger. If the bearing spins roughly, it needs to be replaced. * The router bit may not be tightened, so fully tighten the collet nut with a wrench. * The router bit diameter might be too large and goes out of balance, so reduce the router speed and if vibration is severe, do not use the router bit. * The r...
