S. AIann: The alarm is located above the test button and wiUsound if the engine's oil pressure falls
below IS psi. In this event, the alarm will emit a pulsating signal. The alarm will also sound if the
water temperature in the fresh water cooling circuit rises to 205
0
F. In this event, the alarm will emit
continuous
signals.
NOTE: The alarm will sound when the Key Switch is turned ON. This sounding is nonnal for
the engines
covered in this manual Once the engine starts, and the engine's oil pressure reaches 15
psi, the alarm will silence.
·6. Water Ten!Jl!m!ture GaUge: This gauge is graduated in degrees Fahrenheitand is illuminated
·whiIe the Key Switch is turned ON. The engine's normal operating temperature is 170 - 190

.,. Oil Presswe Gauge: This gauge is graduated in pounds per square inch (pSI) and is illuminated
wbilc the Key Switch is turned ON. The engine's normal operating oil pressure ranges between
30-60PSL
·NOTE: When the engine is manually shut down, and the engine's Key Switch is turned OFF, the
water tewperature gauge will continue to register the last temperature reading indicated by the
gauge before electrical power was turned OFF. The oil pressure gauge will fall to zero when the Key
Switch is turned OFF. The temperature gauge will once again register the engine's true temperature
once elec:trical power is restored to the gauge.
