Why does my Western PRO-FLO spinner not turn even though the motor is running?

  If the motor of your Western Spreader is running but the spinner isn't turning, consider these possibilities: * There might be an obstruction preventing rotation. Clear any obstructions. * The drive belt could be loose or damaged. Adjust the tension or replace the belt if it's worn or damaged. * The motor pulley might not be secured to the motor shaft. Tighten the pulley set screw, or replace the pulley if it's damaged. * The spinner pulley may not be secured to the spinner shaft. Replace the cap screw and nut if they're missing or damaged. Replace the pulley if it's damaged. * The spinner shaft bearings could be dry or seized. Grease or replace the bearings.

  If the speed control dial on your Variable Speed (PWM) cab control isn't changing the motor speed, it could be due to: 1. A malfunctioning cab control. Replace the cab control. 2. Incorrectly hooked up red and white connectors. Reconnect them so that red matches red and white matches white.

  If the Western Spreader spinner shaft won't turn manually, clear any obstructions from the spinner or shaft and lubricate the bearings. If the shaft turns freely and the condition persists, the issue lies within the motor or the cab control. To address an overload condition, reset the cab control by turning the power switch off, then depress the START/BLAST switch. If this doesn't resolve the issue, turn off the power at the cab control, disconnect the electrical plug at the spreader.

If it's blown, change the fuse (use a 6 amp fuse for a 4-pin harness or a 10 amp fuse for a 3-pin harness) and inspect for short circuits. Also, check the power supply for 12V DC. 3. Check the battery connection for any issues. Look for a low battery and clean or replace the ring terminal, coating it with dielectric grease. 4. Inspect the battery wiring harness for damage.
