Machine Compartment Components
1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power.
2. Access the machine compartment components by removing
screws holding machine compartment cover on back of
refrigerator.
NOTE: The components located in the machine compartment
have been used on previously manufactured boom freezer
refrigerators with these excepons:
• 3 way refrigeraon valve.
• Refrigerant check valve.
Below picture shows the components located in the machine
compartment:
3. The 3 way refrigerant valve (RKV) consists of two separate
components, a replaceable magnec operang coil and the
actuang valve (valve body). The valve body is part of the
sealed system and requires no repair unless there is a leak at
one of the joints. The magnec operang coil is replaceable.
4. Disconnect wire harness connector to coil. Straighten the
three metal tabs holding the coil on the valve and then li o.
NOTE: When replacing the magnec coil, posion the coil on the
valve body and align the bendable tabs on the coil with the slots
in the valve body. Firmly seat the coil and use pliers to bend tabs
over to lock the coil in place.
1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power.
2. Access the refrigerant check valve by removing screws
holding machine compartment cover on back of refrigerator.
3. The refrigerant check valve is used to isolate the evaporators
and prevents refrigerant ow back into the evaporator. The
refrigerant check valve is part of the sealed system and
requires no repair unless there is a leak at one of the joints.
