Align the hole of the top link assembly by gently
pushing forward or pulling backward on the right
control lever. (this will tip the backhoe forward or
backwards by applying increased or decreased
pressure on the boom) Make adjustments until
you can see that the holes in the top link and
joint plates are aligned and will accept the bolt
(red arrow). At the same time hold the lower
connecting weldment in place to align the holes.
Note – very small adjustments can be made to the
boom or support legs to accomplish this. Be very
careful of pinch points and stand clear to the right
side of the backhoe while making adjustments.
Each tractor will require a different conguration
of holes, it is up to you to decide the proper
conguration for your tractor. Try to align so that
the top hole of the lower connecting weldment is
as close to the tractor as possible. This will allow
for the most strength. (see green arrow in step
below for example of this) When you are done
with this step the base frame should be relatively
parallel to the ground.
For the next step, insert but do not tighten the
bolts until all 4 bolts are in place. Secure the top
link assembly using no less than (2)-M20 x 120mm
bolts as shown. (red & green arrows). Attach the
top portion of the lower connecting weldment
using one of the top link assembly M20 x 120mm
bolts (green arrow) Secure the left & right lower
connecting weldment using (1) M20 x 55mm bolts
on each side. (blue arrow)
Note – The (2)-M20 x 120 bolts must be installed
in holes as far apart as possible, this allows for the
most strength.
Adjust and tighten if necessary all turnbuckles and
anti sway linkage on your 3-point hitch to prevent
the backhoe from moving “side to side”
