4. Machine Operations
4.1 Startup Procedure
This procedure begins with the laser enclosure power cord plugged into a proper electrical
outlet. In addition the Keyence laser marking system has been properly installed. The devices
have been located into an area which is uncluttered and safe for an operator to perform the
desired processing.
1. Refer to the Keyence manual provided for your specific laser marker to proceed with the
set-up, programming, use and care of the marking device.
2. Power on the enclosure using the power switch. This is will power on the PC as well.
(Section 3.2 step 7)
3. Once the PC is powered on, locate and launch the Worx ME1 application.
*NOTE THAT WHEN THE LASER ENCLOSURE APPLICATION IS TURNED ON AND RUNNING, THE
DOOR AND LASER MARKING HEAD WILL HOME UP AND STAY IN THAT POSITION. THIS CAN BE
MOVED USING THE ENCLOSURE APPLICATION.
4.2 Emergency Shut-down Recovery Procedure
IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY DURING THE OPERATION OF THIS MACHINE, PRESS
THE EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON. THE MARKING PROCESS AND THE LASER
MARKER WILL HALT ALL OPERATION AND THE DOOR WILL REMAIN CLOSED.
Once the EMERGENCY STOP button has been depressed, ALL processing will halt.
1. Correct the cause of the EMERGENCY STOP.
2. Twist the E-STOP button out to clear the E-STOP.
3. It may be necessary to perform a power-cycle on the laser controller unit. Re-START the
laser controller unit following the START instructions for your laser marker.
4.3 Manual Door Operation
1. Enclosure must be powered on.
2. Engage E-Stop.
3. Locate the black button on the right side of the enclosure labeled "Door Brake Release."
4. Push the button to release the door brake. The door will freely move up and down while
the brake release button is pressed. Releasing the button will engage the door brake.
*CAUTION* DOOR WILL FREEFALL IF NOT SUPPORTED!
