3.2 Laser Head Installation
The below instructions have been developed to properly install the Keyence MD-X, MD-F, and
ML-Z Series laser markers into the ME1 laser marking enclosure.
Determine operating location for the ME1 laser marking enclosure. Allow a unit footprint of
approximately 42” wide x 52” deep and a unit height with door clearance of 62”(92" with
cart).
1. Place the boxed laser enclosure near the area designated for the operating location.
2. Cut exterior strapping and remove wrapping.
3. Remove all packaging materials from the laser enclosure.
4. Place the laser enclosure onto a sturdy level surface with access completely around (360
degrees) the unit. Enclosure may be lifted by utilizing the designated forklift fork access
holes. These holes can be used for hand placement if lifting manually.
CAUTION: HEAVY OBJECT.
APPROXIMATE WEIGHT OF THE UNBOXED UNIT IS 180LBS.
5. Familiarize yourself with the components by referring to Section 3.1 Parts of the Machine.
BEFORE PROCEEDING: PLEASE REFER TO SECTION 4.4 TO SAFELY OPEN THE
DOOR TO THE LASER MARKER ENCLOSURE MANUALLY. PERFORM ALL THE STEPS
REQUIRED TO OPEN THE DOOR WITHOUT DAMAGE.
6. Viewing the enclosure from the front, remove the left side access panel.
