1. Safety Considerations
1.1 Before Operating Machine
Visually inspect the interior of the enclosure and remove any items that could
interfere with the movement of the laser Z axis or the door.
Visually inspect for loose or detached components.
1.2 Before Performing Maintenance on Machine
Disconnect the ME1 laser enclosure and Keyence laser controller from their
respective power source.
Disconnect air source if equipped.
Verify all power is disconnected from any auxiliary equipment attached to this
enclosure.
1.3 During Operation of Machine
Remove or re-position any items that may interfere with the vertical movement of the
door or laser.
Remove any items that are not to be marked from the enclosure before running
the laser.
Keep hands clear of the door, including the top area, while the door is moving.
1.4 Emergency Stop
At any time during the cycle, the machine may be immediately stopped by depressing the red
emergency stop button located on the front panel of the unit. Once an emergency stop situation
occurs, the unit will stop all operation until the button is released and any faults are cleared.
1.5 Removable Side Panels
Opening either of the side panels with sensors will result in disabling the laser.
Acknowledgment is required through the Worx ME1 software on the PC to re-enable the laser.
Once acknowledged, the laser can still be operated with the side panels off, but will be reliant on
Keyence's ""Class 4"" certification.
CAUTION: "CLASS 4" INVISIBLE LASER RADIATION IS PRESENT WITH THE LASER
RUNNING AND ANY PANEL OR DOOR OPEN. AVOID EYE OR SKIN EXPOSURE TO DIRECT
OR SCATTERED INVISIBLE RADIATION.
