Important Safety Warnings

Installation Steps Part 1

Install Tongue

Push the tongue into the hitch plate, aligning the holes.

Prepare Hitch Bolt

Install hex bolt and a flat washer, then add a second washer and attach a nut.

Adapter Adjustment for Hitch Size

Remove the 2" hitch adapter and plastic sleeve for 1 1/4" hitches.

Insert Tongue into Vehicle Hitch

Align holes in the receiver to the tongue, check for spare tire interference.

Install Main Hitch Bolt

Install bolt, lock-washer, and washer from right side of receiver, then install safety pin.

Installation Steps Part 2

Extend Carrier Arms

Pull the lever to release the arms from the locked-down position.

Attach Wheel Straps

Attach one rubber strap to each cradle and stabilizer.

Cradle Positioning for Loading

Close cradles along carrier arms and stabilizer to slide them for bike loading.

Load Heaviest Bike First

Load the first bike with chain away from the vehicle and compress cradles.

Stabilize Bike Frame

Arrange bikes for best stabilization and stabilize the bike frame in the cradle.

Installation Steps Part 3

Secure Bikes with Straps

Pull straps tightly over the frame diagonally and hook into place.

Load Remaining Bikes

Alternate bike directions to avoid interference and stabilize with straps.

Fold Mast to Access Rear

Unload bikes, pull knob, fold mast down, then return to upright position.

Fold Carrier Arms When Not in Use

Pull release lever, lift arms slightly, and fold them down, ensuring they lock.

Perform Safety Checks

Check mast lock, strap security, hardware, and tire clearance from exhaust.

Important Load Limits and Usage

Load Limits

DoubleDown 2: 2 bikes (30 lbs each). DoubleDown 4: 4 bikes (30 lbs each). DoubleDown 5: 5 bikes (30 lbs each).

Usage Restrictions

Not for off-road use, bikes with accessories, tandem, or recumbent bikes.

Installation Restrictions

Do not install with spare tire interference, on trailers, campers, or mobile homes.

Maintenance

Use non-water soluble lubricant for metal parts, clean rubber parts with mild detergent.
