The above warning labels mean as follows.

Emergency starting does not have start-
in-gear protection. Ensure shift control is
in neutral before starting engine.

Keep hands, hair, and clothing away
from rotating parts while the engine is
running.
Do not touch or remove electrical parts
when starting or during operation.

Read Owner’s Manuals and labels.
Wear an approved personal flotation
device (PFD).
Attach engine shut-off cord (lanyard) to
your PFD, arm, or leg so the engine
stops if you accidentally leave the
helm, which could prevent a runaway
boat.
