  If your Yamaha Receiver fails to turn on or enters standby mode soon after being powered on, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure all speaker wire connections on the unit and speakers are secure and that the wires don't touch anything other than their connections, as the protection circuitry might have been activated. Also, verify that the power cable is firmly connected. Another potential cause is an incorrect speaker impedance setting; adjust it to match your speakers. Finally, if the unit has been exposed to a strong external electric shock, set it to standby mode, disconnect the power cable, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
