Firmware Update Guide

Thank you for choosing a Yamaha product.

This guide explains how to update the MGP32X/MGP24X firmware.

■ Precautions (Please be sure to read this section first!)

・ The user assumes full responsibility for the update.

Please note that the device may be damaged if you fail to follow these instructions properly,

or turn off the device or remove the USB storage device while the update is in progress.

・

If the update fails, and the device still does not operate correctly even after you execute the

update once again, please contact your Yamaha dealer.

・ Yamaha Corporation owns exclusive copyrights for the MGP32X/MGP24X firmware, its

update program, and the update guide.

  If no effect is being applied on your Yamaha Music Mixer, make sure that the FX1 and FX2 knobs on each channel are adjusted correctly. Check whether the ON button of the FX1 RTN and/or FX2 RTN channel is turned on. Ensure that Knob 2, and the FX1 RTN and/or FX2 RTN faders are correctly adjusted. Verify that the switch for the desired bus in the FX1 RTN and/or FX2 RTN bus assign switches is turned on. When an effects processing unit is connected to the SEND(AUX1 to AUX6) jacks, ensure the AUX1 to AUX6 knobs on the SEND MASTER are set to appropriate levels.

  If you cannot record to a USB device from your Yamaha Music Mixer, check if the USB device is write-protected. Ensure that the USB device has sufficient capacity to save the data and is formatted in FAT32 format. The transmission speed of the USB device might be too slow to record data. If the memory is fragmented significantly, try running a defragmentation program on the computer.

  If there is no sound from your Yamaha Music Mixer, first check that microphones, external devices, and speakers are connected correctly. Ensure that a Y-shaped cable is not used to connect the INSERT connector or an external device. Verify your cables are connected properly and are not shorted or faulty. Confirm the channel GAIN knobs, channel faders, STEREO master fader, and GROUP faders are set to appropriate levels. Finally, check that the bus assign switch and switches in the USB IN and iPod IN sections are set properly.
