  If the sound suddenly goes off on your Yamaha Receiver, check that the IMPEDANCE SELECTOR switch is set to the correct position. Also, ensure that the openings on the top panel are not blocked, as the unit may have become too hot. If the automatic power down function is enabled, adjust the “APD TIMER” setting in the Advanced Setup menu or disable it by setting the POWER MANAGEMENT switch on the rear panel to OFF.

Check if the remote control ID matches the unit’s ID, and switch them if necessary. If that doesn't work, try setting another code from the “LIST OF REMOTE CONTROL CODES”. Also, replace all batteries, and then set the remote control ID again.
