Why is my Yum Asia Panda Rice Cooker rice too hard or too soft?
    • M
      Melinda ThomasAug 20, 2025
The texture of rice can vary based on processing. Ensure your Yum Asia rice cooker is on a flat surface, as uneven surfaces affect water levels and cooking. Also, using the ‘PRESET’ function can soften rice if it soaks too long. Make sure the inner bowl isn’t deformed. The ‘QUICK COOK’ setting may result in harder rice. After cooking, loosen the rice to allow excess water to evaporate.

Why does my Yum Asia Panda make noise during cooking?
    • C
      Cameron HowellAug 28, 2025
A clicking noise is just the microprocessor (MICOM) adjusting the cooking temperature, so there is no need to worry. A ‘sparking’ noise may occur if the inner bowl has moisture on the bottom as the heating element warms. Make sure the inner bowl is completely dry before cooking.

Why is my Yum Asia cake not cooked or doesn’t rise?
    • M
      Michael RoseSep 1, 2025
The cooking time may have been too short. Beat any egg whites until foamy, otherwise there may not be sufficient rise to the cake. Inaccuracy in measuring can cause insufficient baking/rising, so measure the ingredients accurately. Over-mixing the batter when adding the flour may cause insufficient baking or rising, so do not beat egg whites too much. If they separate, they are beaten too much and will cause the cake to collapse. Allowing the batter to sit for an extended period of time may deflate the batter and cause the cake to collapse, so bake the cake immediately after preparing the batter.

    • W
      williamspamelaSep 2, 2025
Did you add baking powder or baking soda? Do not use too much baking powder or baking soda as it may cause the cake to rise too high.
