Removing the Platen Assembly
1. Press the latch release button and open the Media Cover. Remove any media
from the printer.
2. Locate two plastic tabs connected to the platen bearings (p/n BA18897-1) at
either end of the platen (p/n BA18591-1) and rotate the tabs toward the front of
the printer as shown below.

Installation Instruction
This kit includes the parts and documentation necessary to install the AK18913-005
Platen/Gear Kit in the P4T/RP4T model printer. Read these instructions thoroughly
before attempting to install this kit.
Caution • The operator must wear a properly grounded ESD strap to perform the
following repair procedure.
