6.2 Thermal threshold test
The integrated thermal threshold test is an optional manual feature of the
OptonPro which offers a tool to assess the warmth sensitivity, the individual
local absorption rate and the feedback options of the patient.
The thermal threshold test is recommended to avoid an overdose, particularly
in CW mode.
The thermal threshold test requires unimpaired thermal sensitivity.
If locally impaired, the test should be conducted at a warmth-sensitive location.
The laser beam is applied until the patient feels a sensation of warmth. The
right laser power is set properly if the application time is between 7 and 11
Press the "Thermal threshold" button (1) to open the window to perform the
thermal threshold test (2).
The thermal threshold test is performed in continuous mode, which is
automatically set after pressing the "Thermal threshold" button.
