Thistopicdescribesthegroundingrequirementsandfactorsaffectinggrounding.
GroundingRequirements
Groundingcablesmustmeetthefollowingrequirements:
lLayoutthegroundingcablesintheequipmentroominradialorplanemode.Use
separatecablesfortheDCpowerdistributionsystemprotectiongrounding,working
grounding,andlightningprotectiongrounding.
lDonotformanelectricalchannelthroughreinforcingsteelbarsinbuildingsorthrough
thecabinet.
lIfthethreegroundingcablesareunavailableseparatelyattheinstallationsite,
combinethethreegroundingcablesforgrounding.Thegroundingresistanceisless
than5ohm.
FactorsAffectingGrounding
Thegroundingresistanceshouldbeaslittleaspossible.Factorsthataffectgrounding
resistanceincluderesistanceofgroundingstakeandconnectinglead,contactresistance
betweengroundingstakeandsoil,andsoiltype.
lThesoiltypehasthegreatesteffectongroundingresistance.Inanareawithpoorsoil
condition,itisrecommendedtoaddtheresistancereducer(likeacrylamide)around
thegroundingstub.
lTemperaturealsoaffectsthegroundingresistance.InnorthernChina,itis
recommendedtoembedstubsdeeptoreducethetemperatureeffect.Thegrounding
stubmustbemadeofgalvanizedmaterial.
lUseelectricity-conductivecableswithcooperjackettoconnectgroundingstuband
equipment.Theircrosssectionareamustbeatleast50mm

andthedistancemust
beasshortaspossible.Ifnecessary,givegroundingconnectorscorrosive-proofto
getalowresistance.

lDonotkeepammableorexplosivematerialsintheequipmentroom.
