Topology
The DeviceNet media has a linear bus topology. Terminating resistors are required
on each end of the trunk line. Drop lines upto 6 m (20 feet) each are permitted for
attaching nodes to the DeviceNet network. Branching structures are allowed in the
DeviceNet only on the drop line. For more information about the power delivery
capability on the trunk line and drop line, refer to Defining Power Configuration on
page 64. Figure 5 shows the DeviceNet media technology.
