Do you have a question about the ABB eOLI and is the answer not in the manual?
The ABB Electronic Liquid Level Indicator eOLI/eOLI22 and Comem eViewer are components designed for use with oil-insulated transformers to monitor and indicate the conservator tank oil level. This quick start guide provides essential safety information, technical specifications, and installation instructions for these devices.
The primary function of the liquid level indicator (eOLI/eOLI22) is to provide an accurate reading of the oil level within a transformer's conservator tank. These devices typically incorporate up to four micro-switches internally, which can be configured to signal critical oil levels. These signals can trigger alarms or initiate transformer power-off sequences, enhancing operational safety and preventing potential damage. The Comem eViewer acts as a remote display unit, allowing for the visualization of the oil level indicated by the eOLI/eOLI22 from a separate location.
Safety is paramount during the installation and operation of these devices. Only technically qualified and competent personnel, who fully comply with the provided assembling instructions, should perform installation. Improper operations or misuse can lead to serious or fatal injury, damage to equipment, or compromise the proper function of the equipment.
Three types of safety messages are used in the manual:
Electrical installation must adhere to relevant national safety rules. It is mandatory to connect the grounding cable. All relevant fire regulations must be strictly observed. Installation, electrical connection, and fitting of the device should only be performed by qualified personnel and in accordance with the instruction manual. Users are responsible for ensuring the device is used only for its specified application. Unauthorized and improper usage should be avoided for safety reasons.
The electrical micro-switches operate at an advance angle ≤5° with respect to the min or max indications of the oil level in the conservator. If there is a double contact (e.g., double MIN and/or double MAX), the second contact operates approximately 5° after the first contact.
The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues:
