For increased availability, SYS 600C can easily be configured as a redundant Commu-
nication Gateway as shown in Figure 4.2-3.

SYS 600C also supports redundant remote communication lines between SYS 600C and
Remote Control Center as shown in Figure 4.2-4.

SYS 600C as Control System HSI4.3.
SYS 600C HSI provides numerous options for monitoring and controlling a connected
process. SYS 600C handles both the HSI functionality and the Communication Gateway
functionality. In this way SYS 600C can act both as a Communication Gateway, enabling
a remote connection to control centers, as well as the local control system and HSI user
interface on a station level.
The SYS 600C HSI function can be configured as a single and local Control System HSI
configuration as shown Figure 4.3-1.
