Further information for operation with locked rotor on 2-stroke
engines
No further measures are necessary. The engine can be operated with the
auxiliary blower according to the manufacturer's instructions.
The lubricating system must remain connected and turned on.
The bellows at the compressor end must be removed and the air line
at the engine end closed off because the undamaged turbochargers
develop a receiver pressure.
The operating limit of the engine can be raised by additionally closing
off the gas inlet because the exhaust gas is then used to drive the un-
damaged turbochargers. In addition, the load on and the temperature
of the blocked rotor are reduced.
If the gas inlet cannot be closed off, the following operating limits must be
observed:
The pressure in the charge-air receiver must not exceed
1 bar
over
pressure.
Maximum permissible engine load:
50%
.
CAUTION
Attention must be paid to the speed of the undamaged turbochargers in
any event. The speed limit
n
Bmax
given on the turbocharger rating plate
must not be exceeded.
