About the Test Drum
The Accu-Chek Compact
™
meter does not use individual
test strips. The Accu-Chek Compact
™
test strips are
contained in a test drum. Each test drum holds 17 test
strips. Each test drum has a barcode printed along its
label. When you insert the test drum, your meter reads
this barcode (the meter will not display a code number).
Therefore, you do not need to code your meter as
the meter codes itself automatically when it reads
the barcode on the test drum. A test strip advances
automatically from the test drum when the TEST
button is pressed.
❶ Drum vial – Label shows acceptable ranges for
glucose control solutions.
❷ Test Drum – Barcode on label is read by the meter
so coding is not necessary.
❸ Test strip – Touch drop of blood or control solution
here at the black notch on the front end of the
test strip.
