If you use an alcohol wipe to
clean your finger, make sure
finger is completely dry before
proceeding.

Be careful not to squeeze the
finger too hard.

Getting a Good Drop
of Blood
1. Prepare lancet device.
2. Wash hands in warm,
soapy water. Rinse and
dry completely. Warm
fingers to increase
blood flow.
3. Let arm hang down at
side briefly to allow
blood flow to fingertip.
4. Grasp finger near area
to be pricked and
squeeze for three
seconds.
5. Keeping hand down,
prick side of fingertip
and squeeze gently until
you get a drop of blood.
