How to Use the Male Cable Gland (Optional)
This section describes how to waterproof the cable using the male cable gland. This solution is
useful only when you need to replace the cable-out or “pigtail” of the camera (see How to
Remove the “Pigtail” on page 42 for detailed information). For normal applications, the use of
“pigtail” is sufficient and there is no need for replacement.
Before connection, prepare the following materials:
Male Cable Gland
(included in the camera package)
Exterior-Grade Ethernet Cable
(not included in the package)
NOTE: Exterior-grade cables are
already waterproof. Not included in
the package.
Perform the following to use the male cable gland solution:
1. Disassemble the male cable gland as shown below:
Body
(with Washer)
Sealing Insert
with Claw
Clamping
Nut
