Before You Begin
NOTE A data line has been
included with the dental light for
use with A-dec products that can
operate the light through the
touchpad. These products include
the A-dec 500, A-dec 400, and
A-dec 300, as well as Decade
®
,
Cascade
®
, and Performer
®
dental
chairs that have upgraded chair
circuit boards and delivery system
touchpads. The data line should
never be plugged into a telephone
jack. If the system does not include
a touchpad, disregard the
instructions for the data line.

Install the Light

Prepare the Ceiling

Ensure the ceiling and framing can support the light's weight and positioning forces. Consult engineers if needed.

Determine the Location

Check with the doctor for left/right preference and determine mounting location relative to the chair.

Determine the Ceiling and Bracing Type

Identify ceiling type (wood frame or suspended) and complete necessary structural modifications per local codes.

Install the Ceiling Mounting Plate

Position and Mark Mounting Plate

Position mounting template, mark holes for mounting screws, power cable, and data line according to chair orientation.

Drill Holes and Mount Plate

Drill specified holes for data line and power, then mount the plate using lag screws and a socket/ratchet.

Wire and Level the Post

Wire Connections and Post Assembly

Connect power cord wires to electrical stub, route cables, and securely bolt the collar to the post.

Set Up the Dental Light

Prepare and Position Light Assembly

Remove lower cover, lubricate hub, and lift the dental light assembly into position below the post.

Final Positioning and Securing

Connect power/data lines, insert locking tab, position light, install stop screw, and secure retaining ring.

Adjust the Light Rotation

Adjust Light Motion Range

Adjust the range of motion by tightening or loosening the arm's adjustment screw to the desired position.

Test the Light

Verify Light Functionality

Turn on the light, test on/off switch, verify three intensity levels, and confirm touchpad control if applicable.

Before Leaving

Final Adjustments and Checks

Recheck post level, adjust stop ring and cover for secure fit against the ceiling before concluding.
