The UPS load should never exceed the specified nominal load of the
device. If a device overload does occur, however, a signal tone will
sound. Depending on the extent of the overload, the connected loads
will continue to be supplied for a certain amount of time; however, the
connected load must be reduced immediately. Ignoring the "device
overload" state may lead to a total loss of UPS functions.
Also avoid short-term device overloads such as those that can arise as
a result of connecting a laser printer or a laser fax machine, for example.
Do not connect household appliances or machine tools to the UPS.
Never connect additional loads to the UPS if there is a power failure;
i.e., the UPS is operating in emergency power supply mode.
Generally, if overload has never occurred in normal mode, overload
should not occur in battery mode either.
A signal tone indicates a disconnecting fault. Follow the instructions
in Chapter 9.1.
