Modes in which the pitch bend width can be set for each voice are
selected by using the VIB/BEND button. Master this in the following
section.
(15) Now try to obtain portamento using the glide effect.
The glide effect is obtained by touching the GLIDE PLATE for
the EWI1000, and according to the strength applied to the
mouthpiece for the EVI1000.

The time which it takes for the pitch to change can be made longer by
turning the GLIDE TIME knob clockwise. Effective portamento can
be achieved by skillfully setting the TIME knob.
Ex.:To glide the pitch from C4 to E4,
use the GLIDE TIME knob to
set the time it takes (or the pitch
to glide to E4.
At the "0" position — no glide
effect.
At the "10" position — maxi
mum glide effect.
The same type of effect can be ob
tained for gliding from E4 to C4.

NOTE: If the LEDs turn on and remain lit when the BEND
WIDTH and GLIDE TIME knobs are adjusted, readjust
the knobs.
(16) Now try to transpose. The operation is extremely simple — just
hold in the TRANSPOSE button and use the VALUE UP and
DOWN keys and set to the desired point.

When the desired point is reached, release the TRANSPOSE button.
NOTE: The transposition cannot be stored hi the memory. Also,
all voices are transposed. Repeat the above procedure each
time you wish to transpose a voice.
The pitch is set to C when the LED is not on.
(17) To tune, first press the AUTO TUNE button. The EWV2000's
VCOs and VCFs are set to the optimum tuning.

Auto tuning is completed in a few seconds. Now use the TUNE
button to tune the pitch to match other instruments.
These are the basic performing operations. Only create sounds once
you have understood these basic operations fully.
