Mode for setting the level of
a signal from an external
sound source such as a
digital sampler or other syn
thesizer input to EXT IN.
The signal input to EXT IN
is sent to the source 1 VCP
via the source 1 VCO.
Set to —100 when using
only the external sound
source input to EXT IN.
When not using an external
sound source, always set
to+ 100.
For special editing, howev
er, the VCO output may be
stopped at—100.

Mode for setting the cut-off
frequency for the source 1
VCF. This is one of the most
important modes for creat
ing sounds. When the value
is set at 50 or above, the
sound changes little, and at
100 the filter is not used. At
0. if the VCF-EG, BREATH-
VCF, and VIB-VCF are not
deep, it may happen that no
sound is produced.
When cut-off frequency is
lowered, harmonics includ
ed in the sound source
waveform decrease and
the tone changes.
