SECTION “B” TROUBLES WITH TAPE TRANSPORT MECHANISM.
Capstan does not rotate. Troubles with motor Broken field coil. Check field coil mth tester, and replace sotor tf coil 1s broken,
Defective motor starting capacitor (C30). Replace C30.
Rotor shaft dragging due to lack of oil Overhaul motor. Clean and re-lubricate oilite netal
Sone foreign satter exists betwee rotor aad stator. Checz and elimoate fore:gn matter for ‘ree rotation of rotor.

1 Capstaa drive belt off of driving position. Place belt in pcsition.

Check motor torque and replace motor.
Decreased motor torque.
Capstan rotates in Stop positien, but
tape does not advance when switched
to Play position.
Replace C20.
Defective C30.
Motor bushing slipping on zotor shaft
