1. TAPE LOADING
Pl ace the full reel ol tape on th e SUPPLY REE L SHAFT and th e em pty reel on
tho TAKE·UP REEL SHAFT.
Thread tho tape as illustrated by the dotted line.
To keep t he reels from failing, lock t he reels wi th tho r ota inors provided on the
the REEL SHAFTS.
IMPORTANT :
If the automa ti c s l1Ut · ofl and a utom at ic st op are required, thread the tape
below the AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF LEVER . If not, pass t he tape di rectly onto
th o ta ke - up reel.
2. INSTANT STOP/ PAUSE CONTROL
To momentarily s top the tape dur ing record/playback, set t he INSTANT
STOP/PAUSE LEVER to "P AUS E" Posi tion as shown Fig. 13 .
The lever will be locked in t he sto p position and can be released by push ing
the START BUTTON. The I NS T AN T STOP /PAUSE LEVER will not fun cti on
during fast lorward or rewind operation.
U se of th e INSTANT STOP /P AUSE LEVER permits adjustment and balance of
t he recording level wh en the re corder is se t to no rma l recording mode. Adjust
to opti m um recording level while watching the VU meters.
This c ontrol may also be us ed during recordi ng to e dit th e tape (e .g. lift the
level to s top tho recorder when certain portion s of the program are not desired).
Note tha t when the lever is relaasod, no annoyi ng 'cli ck" is improssod on
th e tape.
3. FAST FORWARD AND REWIND
Fa st forward or rewind is performed by t urn i ng the FAST FORWARO / REW INO
LEV ER to the proper posi tio n. Fast forward or rewind permits rapid se l ec tion
of recordings on tho tape. The FAS T FORWARD/ R EW IND LEVER cannot be
turne d out of the s top position unless the RE CORO/PLAYBACK L EVE R Is In its
st op pos it ion, and vice-versa.
