9. TAPE SPLICING AND EDITING
Superimpose the tapes and cut them diagonally as illus trated In Figures.
Cutting on the diagonal eliminates the ··click·' or "pop·· sound in recording/
playback.
Match the aligned ends and apply splicing tape to the glossy side.
Firmly press the splice wi th fingers to secure tha onds evenly. Trim off excess
sp licing tape (cut Into the recording tape very sli ghtly as illustrated by tho
dotted line s- this eliminates the possibi lity of a sticky spl ice.) Because t ape
splicing with scissors is di fficult and requires much skill, it is recommended
that our specially designed portable splicer be used to ensuro professional
resu lts .
10. TAPE ERASING
Any signals previously recorded on a tape will be automat ically erased as a
new recording is made. For erasing only, load tho tape and sot t ho recorder to
the normal record position. No plugs s hould be connected to the LINE INPUT
JACKS (LEFT and RIGHT) or the MICROPHONE JACKS (LEFT and RIGHTI.
A Bulk Tapo Eraser shou ld be used for quick and complete erasing.
