Troubleshooting
Problem Cause Solution
The compressor doesn’t
start.
No mains voltage is
present.
− Check the cable, mains
plug, safety valve and
socket.
The mains voltage is too
low.
− Make sure that the
mains voltage corre-
sponds to the specifi-
cation on the name-
plate.
− Avoid using an exten-
sion cord that is too
long.
− Only use an extension
cord with a sufficient
core cross-section.
The ambient temperature
is too low.
− Do not operate the
compressor at am-
bient temperatures
below +5 °C.
There is not enough oil in
the crankcase.
− Check the oil level and,
if necessary, add oil as
described in the chap-
ter “Adding oil”.
The motor has overheated.
The overload protection
has triggered.
− Let the motor cool off.
If necessary, rectify the
cause of overheating.
− Reset the overload
switch as described in
the chapter “Starting
the compressor after
an overload”.
The compressor doesn’t
stop. Once the maxi-
mum pressure has been
reached, the safety
valve will automatically
activate.
The compressor is
defective.
− Contact customer ser-
vice or an authorised
specialist workshop to
have the compressor
repaired.
