What to do if the pump stops in Alfa Laval Emmie?
    • T
      Tony NguyenAug 20, 2025
If the pump in your Alfa Laval Cleaning Equipment stops, it might be due to a few reasons. The collecting tank might be full, in which case you should empty it and restart the pump. Another possibility is an overload caused by a clogged strainer; clean the strainer, noting that the motor protector in the control unit resets automatically. If the counter pressure at the separator outlet is lower than 50 kPa, check that the suction inlet is not above the surface in the tank, inspect for any obstruction in the inlet line, verify the function of the regulating valve, and adjust the counter pressure. Also, ensure the feed through the whole system is sufficient, as an overload could be caused by an obstructed inlet or outlet side.

Why does my Alfa Laval Cleaning Equipment system/separator not start or stop?
    • D
      David BakerNov 2, 2025
If your Alfa Laval Cleaning Equipment system/separator doesn't start or suddenly stops, several factors could be at play. First, ensure that there is a power supply by checking the mains switch, fuses, and supply line. Another reason could be that the bowl hood interlock is not in the correct position, so position it correctly. Also, inspect the magnetic switch linked to the bowl hood interlock to confirm it opens and closes properly when the interlock moves. In case of incorrect assembly post-cleaning, which prevents the bowl and motor shaft from rotating freely, you should dismantle and recheck. Finally, voltage issues such as too low or high voltage, or voltage spikes exceeding ±5 %, might cause the frequency converter's voltage protection to trip. Verify the voltage, and if it's unstab...
