Theretardermodeshiftscheduleisautomaticallyactivatedwhentheretarder
isswitchedoninordertoraiseclosedthrottledownshiftsforadditionalcooling
duringretarderoperation.Retarderclosedthrottledownshiftsoccuratspeeds
approximatelyhalfwaybetweenthenormalclosedthrottledownshiftandthe
preselectdownshiftforeachrange.Referto4.3USINGTHEHYDRAULIC

isactive,allshiftsreverttoscheduleS1,WideOpenThrottle(WOT)shift
points.Similarly,ifshiftscheduleS6,S7,orS8isinuseandkickdownis
active,allshiftsreverttoscheduleS5,WOTshiftpoints.

Models).Theprimaryshiftscheduleisnormallyusedeachtimethevehicle
isstartedandisspeciedinsuchawaytoaccommodatenormalvehicle

ThesecondaryshiftscheduleisanalternateshiftschedulethattheTCMonly

fromtheoperatororitcanbeinterlockedwiththeoperationofanothervehicle
