5 Ventilate the refrigerant circuit in the outside air.
6 Vacuum pump the refrigerant circuit.
7 Repeat step 3-5 to flush the refrigerant circuit again
until there is no longer any refrigerant in the system.
8 Ventilate the refrigerant circuit down to atmospheric
pressure after the last flush in the outside air.
10.15 To fill the refrigerant circuit
The following measures must be taken in addition to the
standard procedures for conventional filling:
Make sure that dierent refrigerants cannot be
contaminated when the filling equipment is used.
Keep the hoses and the pipes as short as possible to
minimise their content of refrigerant.
Gas cylinders must be upright.
Make sure that the refrigerant circuit is earthed before
the refrigerant circuit is filled.
Label the refrigerant circuit after it is filled.
Be careful not to overfill the refrigerant circuit.
The refrigerant circuit must be pressure tested with
oxygen-free nitrogen before it is filled with refrigerant.
The refrigerant circuit must be checked for leakage after
it is filled refrigerant and before it is started.
A follow-up leakage check must be made after the
refrigerant circuit is started.
10.16 To decommission refrigerant
Warning! Do not exceed the maximum permitted
working pressure for the refrigerant cylinders.
Warning! Do not overfill – the refrigerant cylinders
can be filled up to 80% of their volume.
The technician that decommissions the system must be
familiar with the system and its parts.
All the refrigerant must be contained in a safe way.
Accumulated refrigerant and oil may need to be analysed
before it is reused. For this reason take an oil and
refrigerant sample before decommission.
There must be a power supply in place before the
decommissioning is started.
1 Make sure how to use the controls on the product.
2 Disconnect the power supply to the refrigerant circuit.
3 Make sure that mechanical equipment to handle
refrigerant cylinders is available.
4 Make sure that all the necessary personal protective
equipment and a person authorized to monitor the
equipment and refrigerant is in place.
5 Empty the refrigerant circuit of as much as possible
of the refrigerant. Make a branch pipe to remove the
refrigerant from the dierent parts of the system if it is
not possible to pump down to a vacuum.
6 Make sure to put the refrigerant cylinders on scale
before they are pumped and contained.
7 Start and use the equipment in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions.
8 Close the stop valves remove the equipment and
cylinders from the area without delay.
9 When the cylinders have been correctly filled and
process is completed all the collected refrigerant
must not be filled in a cooling system until it has been
purified and checked.
10.17 Marking
Decommissioned equipment must be labeled to indicate
that it has been decommissioned and emptied of
refrigerant.
The marking must be dated and signed.
The equipment must be labeled to indicated that it
contains flammable refrigerant.
10.18 To collect refrigerant
The refrigerant must be collected and contained in a safe
way.
Make sure that there is a suicient number of cylinders
for all the refrigerant in the system before the refrigerant
is to be collected.
Only cylinders intended for the actual type of refrigerant
must be used.
The cylinders must be labeled for the type of refrigerant.
The cylinders must be provided with functional pressure
release and stop valves.
