Overview

This document is a user manual for an Arçelik 9252 MI Dishwasher. It provides comprehensive information on safety, installation, preparation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description

The Arçelik 9252 MI Dishwasher is designed for domestic use to wash dishes efficiently. It features a water softening system to reduce water hardness, a detergent dispenser for powder, liquid/gel, or tablet detergents, and a rinse aid reservoir to improve drying performance and prevent stains. The dishwasher includes various basket configurations to accommodate different dish sizes and types, such as collapsible lower basket wires, a lower basket bottle wire, a SoftTouch Accessory for fragile glasses, a lower basket glass holder for oversized glasses, and tray wash supports. It also offers an upper basket height adjustable rack and an upper cutlery basket for small items or long utensils.

The dishwasher operates with multiple washing programs tailored to different soiling levels and dish types, including Eco, Intensive, Clean&Shine, Express, and Mini programs. Auxiliary functions like Half Load and Extra Rinse are available to optimize washing based on specific needs. A Time Delay function allows users to schedule the start of a program for up to 9 hours. The machine provides visual indicators for program status, salt levels, rinse aid levels, and tablet detergent usage. Some models feature floor illumination to indicate the washing phase and interior lighting when the door is opened.

Important Technical Specifications

The dishwasher operates on a power input of 220-240 V, 50 Hz. Its total power consumption ranges from 1800-2100 W, with a heater power consumption of 1800 W. The total current draw is 10 A. The drain pump power consumption is 30 W. The water pressure required for operation is between 0.3-10 bar (3-100 N/cm² = 0.01-1.0 Mpa). The maximum permitted water temperature for supply is 25°C. The product complies with EU directives 2014/35/EU, 2014/30/EU, 93/68/EC, IEC 60436/DIN 44990, and EN 50242, as well as the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU). It is manufactured from recyclable materials and should be disposed of in accordance with WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU).

Usage Features

  • Program Selection: Users can choose from five main programs: Eco (50°C, 205 min, 12.9 L water, 0.92 kWh energy), Intensive (70°C, 120 min, 17.6 L water, 1.65 kWh energy), Clean&Shine (65°C, 120 min, 16.2 L water, 1.38 kWh energy), Express (70°C, 58 min, 11.8 L water, 1.20 kWh energy), and Mini (35°C, 30 min, 11.8 L water, 0.80 kWh energy).
  • Water Softening System: The system needs to be adjusted according to the local water hardness, which can be determined using a supplied test strip. Salt should be added to the reservoir, especially during initial use, to ensure optimal performance. The salt indicator on the display will light up when salt needs to be refilled.
  • Detergent Dispenser: The dispenser can hold powder, liquid/gel, or tablet detergents. It has level markings for powder detergent (15 cm³ or 25 cm³) and a capacity of 45 cm³ when brimful. Tablet detergents are suitable for water hardness up to 21°dH, but salt and rinse aid may still be needed for harder water.
  • Rinse Aid System: The rinse aid reservoir should be filled with special dishwasher rinse aid to enhance drying and prevent stains. The rinse aid level can be adjusted from P:1 (no dispense) to P:5 (4 doses). The rinse aid indicator will light up when a refill is needed.
  • Basket Flexibility: The dishwasher offers various adjustable and collapsible basket features. Collapsible lower basket wires (2, 4, or 6 pieces) and tines allow for flexible loading of large items. The upper basket height can be adjusted, even when loaded, to accommodate taller dishes in either the upper or lower section. Some models include a lower basket multipurpose/height adjustable service rack and an upper basket drawer for small utensils.
  • Time Delay: The start of a program can be delayed by 3, 6, or 9 hours. This function cannot be set after a program has started and cannot be changed while active.
  • Half Load Function: This function saves water and power when the machine is not fully loaded, allowing use of both upper and lower baskets.
  • Extra Rinse Function: This function helps remove detergent dissolving issues and improves rinsing performance.
  • Tablet Detergent Function: This function optimizes drying performance when using all-in-one tablet detergents.
  • End of Program: The End of Programme indicator lights up when a cycle is complete. For energy saving, the machine automatically turns off. It is recommended to leave dishes in the machine for about 15 minutes after washing with the door ajar to improve drying effectiveness.
  • Warnings: The machine provides warnings for water cut-off (P2 icon flashing) and overflowing (P1 icon flashing).

Maintenance Features

  • Regular Cleaning: The product's service life is extended by regular cleaning. Users should unplug the machine and turn off the tap before any cleaning. Abrasive substances should not be used.
  • Outer Surface and Door Gaskets: Wipe gently with a mild cleaning material and a damp cloth. The control panel should only be wiped with a slightly damp cloth.
  • Interior Cleaning: Run a program with or without detergent to clean the interior. If water remains, drain it by canceling a program or by removing and cleaning the filters.
  • Filter Cleaning: The filters (micro filter, coarse filter, metal/plastic filter) should be cleaned at least once a week under running water using a brush. Incorrect placement of filters will reduce washing efficiency.
  • Hose Filter Cleaning: The filter attached to the water inlet hose should be checked and cleaned regularly to prevent damage from impurities in the supply water. This involves turning off the tap, removing the hose, cleaning the filter, and reinstalling.
  • Impeller Cleaning: The holes on both the lower and upper impellers should be checked for clogging at least once a week. If clogged, the impellers should be removed and cleaned. The lower impeller can be pulled up, and the upper impeller's nut needs to be turned to the left for removal. Ensure the nut is tightened well upon reinstallation.
