DESCALING
Warning!
Do not use vinegar or other descaling agents not authorised by the Manufacturer.
Warning!
Danger of burns due to splashes of hot water and steam that may escape from the steam/hot water
wand.
Regular maintenance and cleaning preserve and keep the appliance efficient for a longer period of time, as
well as significantly reduce possible limescale deposits in the appliance. Despite this, should the appliance
operation be compromised after some time, due to frequent use of hard and very calcareous water, descaling
can be carried out in order to remove the malfunction.
For this purpose, only use a citric acid-based descaling product. This product can be easily found at Service
Centres.
The Manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage to internal components of the appliance
caused by the use of non-compliant products due to the presence of chemical additives.
The appliance requires descaling when the indicator light (
) turns on steady.
- Fill the water tank with fresh still water up to the MAX level (Fig. 6).
- Pour the descaling product into the water tank.
- Close the water tank lid (A) (Fig. 5).
- Insert the water tank (B) into its seat (Fig. 7).
- Plug the appliance into the power outlet (Fig. 13).
- Place a container on the cup-holder grid (J).
- Turn the steam/hot water wand towards the container.
- Press and hold the power button (S) and the strong coffee button (
) for 5 seconds. The appliance emits
a sound signal and the indicator light of the strong coffee button (
) starts flashing.
- Press the strong coffee button (
) to confirm descaling.
The indicator light (
) flashes to indicate that descaling is in progress.
The descaling process begins and the solution inside the water tank starts running through the steam/hot
water wand. Limescale deposits will thus be removed from the internal circuit of the appliance.
- To stop the descaling process, press the power button (S).
