4. Pre-Use Check
Before powering on the Flowtron Excel system, ensure
that:
• The pressure control knob has been set to the mid
position marked 40 mmHg .
• Garments have been applied to the patient’s legs
correctly, close-fitting and without creases or
folds.
• There are no kinks in the tubing.
• The pump is connected to the mains power supply
but not switched on.
• All tubing connections are secure.
• The system has been arranged so that the power
cable and garment tubing do not pose a trip or
strangulation hazard.
