Safety Note: If the FT74s are supplied to operate on any voltage other than
220V to 240V ac, a transformer will be fitted internally to the
electrical tray to ensure that the output socket is within this
range, ie. the voltage output will be different from the voltage
input.
Also on the panel of the electrical tray is a 50 way output socket (38) for recording or
logging the operational parameters. This socket is designed to be compatible with the
Armfield FT74-90IFD data logger. If it is required to use alternative data logging
devices, full details of the connector are given on page 55.
COMPUTER DATA LOGGING OPTION
An optional data logging accessory is available, which allows all the major
operational parameters to be logged onto any standard IBM compatible PC (order
reference FT74-90IFD-A or FT74-90IFD-B depending on the local electrical supply).
The package comprises the Armfield IFD3-FT interface unit, connecting leads and
Windows™ based data logging software.
The mains lead supplied with the IFD3-FT interface unit should be connected to a
mains outlet socket on the wall (fuse rating 1 Amp). The IFD3-FT will accept supply
voltages from 90 Vac to 260 Vac, the only difference in the two versions being the
mains connecting lead. If the plug on the mains lead is not compatible with the local
socket it should be cut off and replaced by a qualified electrician.
The IFD3-FT Interface Unit is connected to the FT74 with the 50 way Ribbon Cable
provided. It is connected to the parallel (printer) port of the computer using the 25
way ‘D’ type cable provided. If it is required to use a printer on the system, it can be
attached to the spare 25 way connector on the IFD3-FT. Refer to the instruction
leaflets supplied with the data logger for full details of the PC microcomputer
required, how to connect the data logger to the FT74 and how to use the software.
Note: The IFD-3FT is not designed to be washable. The same care should be
given to it in terms of handling and cleaning as a conventional item of
office computer equipment.
HOMOGENISER PLATE OPTION (FT74-12)
The interchange section of the plate heat exchanger can be fitted with an optional
homogeniser plate (FT74-12) that allows the product to be passed through a
continuous homogeniser before being returned to the heat exchanger for final cooling.
FT74-12 consists of an intermediate plate type CCM26882 together with a standard
plate type PE103 that are fitted in place of the original plate type PE107 as shown in
the diagram on page 21. The homogeniser is simply connected to the Tri-clover
fittings on the new intermediate plate.
Note: The FT9 Homogeniser (batch operation only) cannot be used in conjunction
with this accessory.
