This guide describes the installation and testing procedures for the Touch-
stone Multi-Line TelephonyModem models:
•TM608G/NA: North American DOCSIS, 115-240V AC power; 8 tele-
phonylines with battery backup
•TM608G/CE: North Amercian DOCSIS, 115-240V AC power with
European power cord; 8 telephonylines with battery backup
Safety Requirements
ARRIS TelephonyModems comply with the applicable requirements for per-
formance, construction, labeling, and information when used as outlined
below:

Risk of shock
Mains voltages inside this unit. No user serviceable parts inside. Refer ser-
vice to qualified personnel only!
CAUTION
Risk of damage
Connecting the TelephonyModem to existing telephone wiring should be
performed only by a professional wiring technician.
The existing wires providing telephone service must be physically discon-
nected from the incumbent service provider’snetwork interface device. This
is a physical break in the connection, not just a discontinuation of service.
Failure to do so may result in damage to the TelephonyModem.
