communication formats, and should not be mixed. If the “Link to
Computer” option is being used, the Data Collection flag should be turned
off.
When the Data Collection Flag is turned on, calibration results are
available at the RS232 port on the rear panel of the Instrument (9600 bits
per second, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity) and can be captured by any
PC running a suitable communications program.
Access this option using the Setup Menu. (Refer to Section 6.1,
“Instrument Setup Menu.”)
Press YES at the prompt:
Data Collect Flag?
To skip this setup option, press NO.
If YES is pressed, the following prompt will be displayed:
Data Collection: Off
Turn On? (Yes/No)
or
Data Collection: On
Turn Off? (Yes/No)
These prompts relate to the status of the Data Collection setting for the
Serial Data Output.
If the status of the Data Collection setting does not need to be changed,
press NO. The instrument will return to the Setup Menu.
To change the status of the Data Collection setting, press YES. The status
will change and the instrument will return to the Setup Menu.
IMPORTANT The Data Collection setting should be turned on only if calibration results are being sent to
a PC via the RS232 port. Contact ARTEL for more information about this feature.
6.8 Choose Nomenclature
The summary statistics shown near the end of a PCS pipette calibration
can be labeled with one of two different (but equivalent) nomenclatures.
The statistics and their labeling are shown below for comparison. The
Choose Nomenclature menu entry permits the user to select which choice
of nomenclature is desired. As shipped, the PCS is set up with the ARTEL
nomenclature.
