good condition. When this entry is selected,
choose the filter through which the lamp light
will pass (520 nm or 730 nm) as part of the
lamp voltage stabilization.
If both lamp voltages are stable and below 3.5
volts, the lamp is operating properly. If a
problem with the filters is suspected, ARTEL
Technical Support can provide assistance
through this diagnostic function.
• Test Mixer? This entry determines if the mixer is clear of
obstructions and operating properly. It will mix
a sample for approximately five seconds and
display an error message if any problems are
encountered.
• Test Filter Wheel? This entry determines if the filter wheel is able
to select the filters properly. It will allow a
selection of one of two filters (520 nm or 730
nm). If the filter wheel cannot be positioned to
the selected filter, an error message will be
displayed.
• Read Temperature? This entry displays the PCS temperature as
determined by the probe in the vial block.
NOTE: Should the probe be disconnected (as might happen if the rear access cover is
removed for instrument service and not properly re-installed), the PCS will beep
at power-on and indicate that there is a temperature probe error.
• Test Switches? This entry checks the lid open/closed switch
and the vial-in-place sensor. Failure of either
sensor will make it impossible to use the PCS
normally.
