8.0 SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
8.1 Preventive Maintenance
The PCS
Instrument requires minimal operator maintenance. However,
periodic cleaning procedures should be performed. The operator,
depending upon the condition of the working environment, should
determine the frequency of maintenance.
8.1.1 Cleaning the Cabinet
To clean the cabinet, use only a clean water-dampened cloth. If the
bores of the vial block need cleaning, use damp cotton swabs.
8.2 Instrument Calibration
Follow the procedure described in Section 5.0, “Instrument CAL A and
Calibration”
8.3 Removal of Rear Access Cover
The Rear Access Cover can be removed from the PCS Instrument.
Removing the cover permits access to the user replaceable PROM card.
CAUTION! Disconnect all external cabling. Prior to removal of cover components the power must be
turned off and the external Power Supply unplugged from the Instrument.
8.3.1 Locate and unfasten the two (2) quarter-turn fasteners on the Rear
Access Cover. To unfasten the quarter-turn fasteners, use a
screwdriver, insert the blade in the slot and rotate 1/4 turn counter
clockwise. The fastener will pop out 1/4 inch, indicating an
unfastened condition.
IMPORTANT: The Vial Block on the Rear Access Cover has a cable that is attached via a connector to the
main circuit board. If the connector becomes disconnected, reconnect prior to replacing the
Rear Access Cover onto the Instrument.
8.3.2 Remove the Rear Access Cover and place directly behind PCS
Instrument.
