6. CONNECTING THE MAINS POWER
IMPORTANT: The installation of Traka products must be carried out in accordance with any local electrical
installation codes/standards that may apply.
NOTE: A readily accessible mains disconnection device must be incorporated in the building installation
wiring and this device must enable double pole disconnection.
NOTE: In the case of a battery being fitted there are two power sources present.
NOTE: Traka Touch products are supplied without a plug and must be wired into a non-switched fused spur
fitted with a 3A fuse, or for the USA and Canada, connected via the supplied surge protection module as
explained in the next section.
NOTE: Before wiring the Traka power supply mains lead into a 3A fused spur, please ensure that the spur
has been isolated at the main consumer unit or fuse box. If you have any doubt about connecting Traka to
the mains power obtain expert advice before continuing.
NOTE: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED!
NOTE: The wires in the Traka Power Supply mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Green / Yellow: Earth
Blue: Neutral
Brown: Live
If the coloured wires of the mains lead of this appliance do not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the
terminals in your spur, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured GREEN AND YELLOW must be connected to the terminal in the spur which is marked by the
letter E or by the Earth symbol or coloured GREEN or GREEN AND YELLOW.
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal in the spur marked with the letter N or coloured
BLACK.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal in the spur which is marked with the letter L or is
coloured RED.
6.1 USA AND CANADA
Systems to be installed in the USA and Canada will be supplied with a surge protection module that must be connected
between the Traka Power Supply and mains power outlet as shown in the image below.
Please note that you will need a T25 Torx driver to service this module.
