Answering system settings
Number of rings
You can set the answering system to answer an incoming call aer 2, 3, 4, 5,
or 6 rings. You can also select Toll saver, which is explained below. Unless you
change it, the answering system answers an incoming call aer
three rings.
To set the number of rings:
1. Press in idle mode to enter the
main menu.
2. Press or to scroll to Answering sys,
then press .
3. Press or to scroll to Ans sys setup,
then press .
4. Press or to scroll to # of rings, then press
.
5. Press or to scroll and choose among
2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or Toll saver.
• Toll saver- the answering system answers a call aer two rings when
you have new messages, and aer four rings when there are no new
messages. This feature allows you to check for new messages and avoid
paying long distance charges if you are calling from out of your local area.
6. Press to save your setting.
NOTES:
• If you subscribe to a voicemail service oered through your telephone service provider, see
Answering system and voicemail indicators on page 60.
• If you have muted the first ring, you will hear one ring less before the answering system answers
the incoming calls.
