If pressing hotkeys on your ATEN Switch gets no response, it might be because the selected port connects to a computer that is powered off. To resolve this, manually change to a connected port by pressing the appropriate Port Selection switch. You can also resend the Hotkey command, making sure to select a port with a computer that is powered on. Also, make sure that Master View is not in Auto Scan or Last/Next Mode by pressing the [Spacebar] to exit.

If the keyboard is not responding with your ATEN Switch, first, check all keyboard cable connections to ensure they are securely seated in their sockets. If that doesn't work, try unplugging the keyboard from the Console Keyboard Port and then plugging it back in. As an alternative, turn off the computers, unplug the KVM cables from the unit, wait five seconds, then plug the cables back in and turn the computers on. Finally, ensure the switch is not in Auto Scan Mode or Last/Next Mode by pressing the [Spacebar] to exit.

If you're experiencing video problems with your ATEN Switch, it could be due to the resolution or bandwidth being set too high. This unit supports VGA, SVGA, Multisync, and XGA (interlaced), with resolutions up to 1920x1440 and a maximum bandwidth of 150 MHz. Also, the issue may be with your cables. Using high-quality cables should eliminate potential video problems.

If you're experiencing mouse issues with your ATEN Switch, start by checking all mouse cable connections to make sure they are completely seated in their sockets. Also, this unit is designed to work only with PS/2 mice and computers with PS/2 type mouse ports. Serial mouse ports with adapters cannot be used. Try turning off the computers, unplugging the KVM cables from the switch, waiting five seconds, then plugging the cables back in and turning the computers on. Finally, check your Device Manager to be sure that the correct driver for your mouse has been installed.
