2.5 Sealing liquid supply
2.5.1 General requirements
Standard/Safe Area pumps are configured for internal seals flush supplies and only require a sealing liquid
supply. Your sealing liquid must meet the following requirements:
You must not use a flammable sealing liquid.
The liquid(s) must be compatible with the process gases and vapours pumped, and with the
materials of construction of the pump (see Section 2.7).
During operation, the pump unit must be continually supplied with working-liquid which must be free
of solids such as sand. If necessary, connect a filter on the intake inside.
The pressure of the sealing liquid supply must be adequate to overcome pressure losses through
the supply pipelines. Adjust the pressure in the feed pipe to approx. 1bar above the necessary
suction pressure.
