PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. This section contains the general narrative that applies to the Audio-Video Sections of Division
27. Materials and equipment shall be installed in conformance with the manufacturer's
installation instructions and U.L. requirements.
B. It is the intention of this Division of the Specification and the accompanying drawings to
describe and provide for the completion of design details, furnishing, installing, testing and
placing in satisfactory and fully commissioned operational condition all equipment, materials,
devices and necessary appurtenances to provide a complete and fully operational Audio-Video
(AV) systems, together with such other miscellaneous installation and equipment hereinafter
specified and/or shown on the drawings.
C. The drawings and specifications are complementary and what is called for (or shown) in either
is required to be provided as if called for in both. Where conflicting information occurs within the
drawings and specifications or between the drawings and specifications, the more expensive
alternative shall be used as a basis for bidding. Prior to execution of the contract, Contractor
shall notify Consultant of all conflicts between the drawings and specifications.
1.2 NARRATIVE
A. Play Room
1. The Playroom interactive audio video system is designed to provide video entertainment
and interactive content via Multitouch display and applications loaded on connected
computer like using a large iPad.
2. The Playroom video display consists of a 98” 12 point Multitouch LCD video display.
3. The Playroom will offer the following capabilities:
a. Audio System
1) Two zones of monaural electronic amplification, reproduction of audio from
video content.
2) Five quality loudspeakers located in ceiling to provide area with full fidelity
sound.
3) Audio input plate with Bluetooth located to the left of the display.
4) Two sets of RF wireless rechargeable headphones.
b. Video System
1) One 98” twelve points of touch Multitouch LCD display located on head wall.
2) HDMI and USB computer input located to the left of the display.
3) One rack mounted owner furnished computer will run applications for
interactive content.
4) One 8x2 matrix switcher to accommodate five media devices and one wall
plate.
c. Control System
1) Volume control of inputs, video selection, and remote power control at a
touch control panel in a 2 Gang wall box.
